Is Article Writing And Marketing The Same Thing?

If you think this is a strange question, it's not. A lot of people think that article writing and article marketing are the same thing. They are not. Sure, there is a relationship between the two, but not as much as you might think. No, you don't even have to write articles to be an article marketer. Confused? Don't worry. After you are done reading this article, your confusion will be a thing of the past.

Let's start out with article writing, which has nothing to do with marketing. Article writing is the actual process of writing an article. It does not take into consideration any end result other than the education of the reader. That education can come in the form of giving them facts, making them laugh, making them cry or just about any other emotion. Your only goal as an article writer is for the reader to get whatever it is they're supposed to get out of the article...period. That means, what YOU want is totally irrelevant.

Okay, what about article marketing? That is a totally different animal and, if we're going to be honest here, totally self serving. After all, when it comes to article marketing, the only purpose of the article is to get the reader to go to YOUR website page to either sign up for your list, buy your product, click on your Adsense or CPA link or whatever it is you have there that's been put there for the sole purpose of making YOU money. And guess what? You don't even need to write one article to accomplish this.

If you're sitting there right now scratching your head wondering how this can be, think about it. Go to Ezine Articles and look at the top authors. Do you really think what's his name wrote over 15,000 articles? A lot of these authors outsource their work. They hire people to write on various subjects and then submit the articles with links to THEIR web pages. There is no way humanly possible for somebody to write 15,000 articles in a few years.

My point is simple. Don't confuse article writing with article marketing. If you're going to article market and don't plan on outsourcing, better learn how to write. And yes, you do have to write an article that the reader is going to want to read, meaning it has to help them in some way. The key is not giving them so much information that they don't need to go to your site. That's where the article marketing smarts come in.

Does The Blog Platform You Choose Matter?

A question I get asked a lot is if it matters what blog platform you use. Most people are referring to either Blogger or WordPress. This is certainly a reasonable question and the honest answer is yes, it does matter. It matters a great deal. The content you put on your blog is certainly going to be the ultimate decider of how successful your blog is, but there are some things you should know about Blogger and WordPress before you even get started.

Let's take WordPress as hosted on the WordPress domain itself. You have to be VERY careful about using their domain. WordPress is TOTALLY against marketing of any kind using their blogs. If you are promoting any kind of products, they WILL shut you down. Oh yeah, it might take a while for them to find you (one marketer was operating for years before being shut down) but eventually they will find you. So, if you're going to use a blog for commercial purposes, don't use WordPress on their domain. Instead, get your own hosting and your own domain. Installation is easy.

Aside from that, what really is the difference between WordPress and Blogger? Well, WordPress has more plugins to optimize the blog itself, especially for SEO purposes. With the proper plugins, your WordPress blog can be a real search engine powerhouse. Of course, as I said, the content is ultimately going to make the difference. Blogger doesn't have as many tools however, Blogger has one advantage that WordPress doesn't have. See, Blogger is owned by Google which just happens to be the biggest search engine on the planet. So yes, as you can probably guess, Google favors Blogger blogs.

In all honesty, it probably doesn't matter which blog platform you use as long as your blog has good content. Good content will override any limitations that the blog itself might have.

Conversely, no matter how great the blog platform is and no matter how optimized you make it, if the content is poor or scraped from other sites, you're not going to get the rankings that you're looking for.

WordPress or Blogger? The differences are minor in comparison to what goes on them. The key is understanding that it's the content, and not the platform, that's going to make your blog a success or a flop. So make your choice (either one will work) and make that blog the best one that it can be.

To YOUR Success,
Pete

Making Money Online On A Shoestring Budget

A lot of people say to me things like, "I need to make money online but I don't have any money to spend. What can I do?" Well, while it certainly helps to have money to invest in your business, there are things you can do to make money online where you don't have to invest a cent. That's right...not one red cent. In this article, I'm going to give you a few ideas to get you going.

At the top of the list is freelancing. If you have any skill at all, such as writing, programming or graphic design, there are people out there who actually need your skill. What you take for granted, many people will pay dearly for. So what you need to do is take stock of your skills and do a little research to see if there is a demand for them. Best place to go is Elance where most of the freelancers hang out. Plus, this is where quite a few people go to look for jobs to be done. It won't cost you a cent and can make you a pretty penny in the process.

Another thing you can do is affiliate marketing. And no, you don't need money to market a product as an affiliate. As a matter of fact, you don't even need your own web site. Can't afford Adwords? Don't need it. All you need to do is go to the Clickbank marketplace and find a product to sell. Ask the creator for a review copy. Tell them you're a marketer. This works best outside of the make money niche. After reviewing the product, put your review up on a free Blogger blog. Then, simply drive traffic to it through writing a few articles and submitting them to directories. Again, this won't cost you one cent.

Finally, you can participate in online focus groups. These are a little tough to find but they pay outrageously well. Just go to Google and look up "focus groups." You'll find sites where you can register and then, when a focus group starts up, you'll be notified if you're selected. The amount of money you can make from some of these is indecent. There are some that pay four figures for just a few weeks of work. And again, this won't cost you one red cent.

Point is, you don't need money to make money online. That is a nasty rumor started by some Internet marketer who is just after your hard earned money.

No need to hand it over quite that fast.

To YOUR Success,
Pete

Can You Really Make Money With Twitter?

Everybody jumps on all the latest fads. Twitter is no exception. So naturally, whenever somebody new comes along, they're going to ask the same question everybody else asks..."Can you REALLY make money with Twitter?" Well, the answer is yes. However, having said that, if you're going to be successful using Twitter, you want to make sure you're not doing what most of the clueless Internet marketers out there are doing. This article will give the details.

For starters, if you're going to head on over to Twitter with the intention of spamming the heck out of the place, you can forget about it. If enough people report you (and they will) your account will be deleted so fast it'll make your head spin. The key to being successful with Twitter is by actually participating in the community. Now isn't that a novel concept. By participate I mean talk about yourself and what you're doing with your life. Share information that might help others.

One way to do that, if you have your own blog, is to make them aware of when you've posted a new article on that blog. Maybe you have a free report on the subject you're an expert on. Why not offer it to your Twitter followers? If you find out about a piece of news from somewhere on the Internet, share the link with them. Go out of your way to actually contribute to the community. What you'll find out is that your followers will grow in great numbers just by word of mouth.

Of course, to help this along, publish your Twitter profile wherever you can...on your blog and any forums where you attend. The Warrior Forum is a great place to start. You can setup your Twitter profile right in the member options. If you write articles and submit them to Ezine Articles, they have an option where each time an article of yours is published, it will be broadcast to all your Twitter followers.

Ultimately, what all this is going to do is build up your reputation. Once that reputation is built, you will find that the trust you've gained will get you quite a few sales if you plan your promotions carefully. You don't want to promote more than you contribute. That's the key.

How long Twitter will actually last is anybody's guess. But for now, Twitter can be quite profitable if you use it correctly.
